Halloween!

I love Halloween! It is my second favorite Holiday. (Christmas is first) If Halloween came with presents not candy it would definitely replace Christmas as my favorite. I started decorating this weekend and am about 75% done, the only problem is that with the cats what you think was decorated you can find undone the next morning! My mom asked me the other day if I'm actually using my craft desk (Doubting me are you mom?! lol) So I figured I would share one of the decorations I'm working on right now, I'm also making hair bows for Sky but I haven't taken any pictures of those yet. I found the image over at The Graphics Fairy, printed and enlarged it, and decorated it with glitter. I want to attach it to black ribbon to hang and then it will be done! I will post the finished project when its done.

We're also making glitter spider rings, which should be fun...or it could make me want to pull out my eyelashes with a toothpick. Right now there is glitter all over the floor! I can't wait to get out the vacuum and clean it all up!

I ♥ Ikea...

Any one can tell you that I love Ikea. Ask almost anyone I know and they will tell you I rave about that store! Well, I have a whole new reason to love it! I was recently gifted the wrought iron bed from their store (okay I found it in the garbage but don't tell anyone that!) The only thing is was it had no hardware! I threw it in the car anyway figuring that I could go to the store and pick up the hardware and put it together. So for our Friday night coffee night, My sister and I went to our local Ikea and looked around for the bed. When we found that it was still in stock we excitedly (Okay me more than her lol) went down to the customer service desk and waited for our number to be called (like the deli but you can't eat what you get) Anyway our number is called and we go up to the lady at the counter and tell her that I inherited the bed, I wasn't going to tell her I garbage picked it! And that we needed the hard ware for it. She asked us what the name of the bed was... that's what we forgot to write down! So, we go back to where the bed was and write down the name, head back down to C.S., take another number, and wait again. The next lady we got laughed as we told her we had to do this a second time, but helped us without poking any fun. I told her the name of the bed which right now escapes me! (lol) and that I needed the h/w. She asked me if I also needed the directions for it, which I did. She printed up the directions for me while another got the pieces together and Voila! Skylar has a new bed! All for the grand total of $0 dollars!  So not to be cliche but Bed frame $0- replacement hardware $0- Skylar has a brand new bed to sleep in priceless! I love the fact that even though we didn't buy the bed from Ikea originally, the fact that it was an Ikea bed meant that I am able to get replacement parts for nothing! Skylar absolutely loves it!

Snickerdoodles and failed experiments...

So yesterdays "social" experiment failed miserably. By 11:30 I was so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open and the kids were still going strong, they just "weren't tired". As they told me, so in the end I pulled rank and told them I wasn't going to bed until they were. For 2 children that "weren't tired" they were both asleep in 10 minutes flat! Maybe I'll try the experiment at another time when I feel more comfortable leaving them up after I go to sleep.

On a better note, a good friend of mine gave me a cookie mix to sample for our next school  fundraiser. I had them for a week pushing them off to the side thinking I didn't have enough time (or energy) to make them. Well today I took the mix off the shelf and decided to give it a try. They were so easy to make! I shoulda made them days ago!

It was easy enough to make with both of the kids. I started the dough and then Sky rolled them in the cinnamon mix. These would definately make for an excellent fundraiser!

Oh P.S. I started my craft corner, its cming along really great. Here have a peak,
